Neopostism? Neosent?
The Opening of the Group Exhibition at the Agripas 12 Artists´ Gallery
(9.12.2021-26.2.2022)

Neopostism - a new word, was invented by Sasha Okun. The word is the assembly of ´Neo´, ´Post´, and ´Ism´. ´Neo´ - new; ´Post´ - after / following / in the footsteps of; ´Ism´ - a suffix as in: Expressionism, Cubism, Fauvism etc. The meaning of the word Neopostism: influenced by all of the various periods and movements renowned in Contemporary Art.

Neosent - a new word, was invented by Lena Zaidel. The word is an assembly connecting the syllables ´Neo´ and ´Sent´. ´Neo´ - new; ´Sent´ - an abbreviation of Sentimentalism. Neosent - the new Sentimentalism.

The exhibition Neopostism? Neosent? examines the emerging trend of the past few years in the contemporary art field: tendencies to narrative art, figurative art, rigorously created art, and art with a focus on emotion. The exhibition examines these inclinations and highlights the threads that connect the works of 21 Israeli artists exhibiting here, with works of Sentimentalists of the 18th century.
